City Council on Parade

City Council on Parade

Did you see our City Council in the Apple Blossom Parade this weekend? They traveled down Main Street on a 1924 Autocar Model 32A Flatbed truck, the oldest vehicle belonging to the Sebastopol Public Works Department. This truck has wooden wheels with solid rubber tires and was used to drive to Santa Rosa to pick up materials in its heyday. Now retired, this workhorse enjoyed a tow by the Sebastopol Fire Department.

City Councilmembers weren’t the only ones at the parade and festival. In its 72nd  year, the Apple Blossom Festival highlights the best of Sebastopol life. The parade included multiple school marching bands, Scout troops, choirs and musicians, decorated and costumed community members with furry friends, and even Sonoma County royalty, as Miss Sonoma County and Miss Sonoma County Outstanding Teen graced some 9,000 fans with the “royal wave” all along the parade route.
