The City of Sebastopol, and all of Sonoma County, is under a Shelter in Place order by the County Health Official, which was last extended and revised on 3/31/2020.  Under this order, short-term lodging facilities shall not operate for tourism. No homeowner, agent of the homeowner, property manager, marketing agent, listing agent, or real estate agent shall engage in efforts to rent or lease any short-term lodging facilities within the County.
Please be advised that all vacation rentals within the City are subject to this order, and shall not be operated at this time.   Please see below for additional clarifications. 
Vacation Rentals and Second Homes:
  • If you have more than one home, you need to Shelter in Place in one of these locations. You should not be traveling back and forth. That is not considered essential travel.
  • Vacation or Short-term Rentals - The updated Order prohibits short-term occupancy for non-essential travel.“I am concerned that some individuals are still offering units to tourists,” said Dr. Mase. As the other Bay Area counties extend their shelter in place orders, it will be especially important for Sonoma County to avoid becoming the destination of choice for a getaway. The provision in the new Order allows us to step up enforcement.”
  • If you are an Air B&B host we have learned that AirB&B has created a $250 million fund to help reimburse you for a portion of cancelled reservations due to the Shelter in Place order.Please contact AirB&B directly for further information
